ORIGINAL ANTIQUE JAPANESE SAMURAI SWORD with NBTHK CERTIFICATE
Antique Nihonto Tanto + NBTHK CERTIFICATE – SUKEYOSHI: circa 1865.
Shinto (Edo) Tanto (short katana/dagger) with Japanese certification from the most prestigious organization “Nihon Bijutsu Token Hozon Kyokai”. The N BTHK certificate confirms the authenticity/origin/smith’s signature/blade age and is recognized worldwide.
Smith’s signature “Sukeyoshi Saku”. This is the same smith who forged the sword for the famous Shinsengumi (Mibu Wolves) commander Kondo Isami! A brief description of the smith is below.
The sword’s artistic qualities are enhanced by the Hadori cut. Both the Hamon (hardening line) and Hada (forging grain) are exceptionally beautiful and clearly visible.
The Habaki is made entirely of high-grade silver.
The tanto has two mounts: the Shirasaya (working mount, for storing the blade) is made of Japanese Magnolia wood. There’s also a beautiful, lacquered (black and cherry) Koshirae, also made of Magnolia wood, with fittings made of buffalo horn and high-grade silver Menuki (dragons) (matching the Habaki).
The sword also comes with a custom-made original Japanese silk sheath.
