Authentic Original Waffen-SS M35 Double Decal Helmet

Rare SS-VT Variant. This highly collectible early-war German helmet was manufactured by Quist and is stamped size 62 with batch number 332, making it a desirable example for serious WWII militaria collectors.
This early SS-VT (SS-Verfügungstruppe) issued M35 helmet retains its fascinating multi-layer factory paint structure, visible due to honest period wear. The helmet shows two original layers underneath, with the outermost finish being the distinctive special grey VT field color applied over the earlier black parade finish. The black layer was used when SS personnel wore the traditional black parade uniform, possibly associated with pre-war events such as the 1939 party rally, where SS units were required to appear in black uniform formation.
The exterior demonstrates medium to heavy period combat wear, naturally revealing the different paint layers in a visually striking and historically authentic manner. Despite the service use, the helmet remains structurally solid and untouched, preserving its originality.
Both SS runic and national shield decals remain present in Pochers style over the Quist pattern, and they remain in good condition considering the helmet’s combat history. The decals still display strong visual appeal and add significant collector value.
